Learners, through Udemy’s platform, can connect with instructors for live coaching sessions. This article includes the rules and guidelines governing their use.
Instructors – detailed guidelines
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, do so in good time and in accordance with the Refund Policy.
- DO answer questions politely, and do your best to assist your coachee with their use case.
- DON’T be rude, aggressive, or threatening in your interactions with learners.
- DON’T record, reproduce, or share any part of a session.

DON’T use Coaching Services to self-promote - sharing of coupons, course referral links, external links, marketing messages, or references to the same are prohibited in coaching sessions. If resources you want to share are hosted externally, these must be free and not collect personally identifying information about the learner.
- Consider the coaching session as an extension of your Course Material. Learn more about what is restricted in course material.
- DON’T ask for personal information about your learner.
- DO cover topics that are important to your learner, and avoid going off-topic of touching on our our restricted topics

When an instructor or learner is clearly going against the spirit of Udemy policies in an attempt to game the system, or if we see a severe negative impact on the teaching environment for either learner or instructor, we will consider this a violation of our policies.
