Udemy for Business Revenue Share
The Udemy for Business instructor revenue model is different from the Udemy marketplace instructor revenue model. While marketplace instructor revenue is calculated on volume of course purchases and students’ lead sources for a given course, Udemy for Business instructor revenue is based on learner engagement, or the total number of minutes consumed within an instructor’s course(s).
Each month, Udemy allocates 25% of monthly subscription revenue from Udemy for Business customers for payments to Udemy for Business instructors as our instructor revenue pool. To calculate instructor payments each month, we divide the instructor revenue pool by the total minutes consumed by Udemy for Business learners across all courses that month. This “per-minute” amount is then multiplied by the number of minutes learners have spent in your courses to determine your revenue. This calculation includes time spent on video, practice tests, quizzes, and includes any re-watched minutes or re-taken tests.
Revenue from Udemy for Business will be paid on the 3rd business day of each month for minutes consumed in the previous month. For example, revenue from August will be reflected in your revenue report on the 3rd business day of September.
For courses with multiple instructors, revenue will be divided amongst co-instructors and reflected in each instructor’s individual revenue report.
In just the last year, Udemy for Business has tripled its customer base and we continue to be on a strong growth trajectory. By partnering with Udemy for Business, you’re not only increasing your own visibility and credibility as an instructor, you’re helping to transform workplace learning.
