About Credits
What are Udemy credits?
Udemy credits are a balance that can be used towards purchasing any Udemy course. They will be automatically applied to your next course purchase at Udemy.com.
For example, if you’ve had $10 of USD credits added to your account and the next course you purchase is listed at $30 USD, you will only be charged $20 USD.
How do I use Udemy credits?
Udemy credits in your account are automatically applied to your course purchase. When proceed to the payment page, you will see the total credits applied to the purchase, as well as any remaining credits.
Please note: Udemy credits cannot be used on the Udemy mobile app. They can only be applied to purchases on Udemy.com.
Can I get my money back from Udemy credits?
Udemy Credits are not able to be exchanged or reversed to a different payment method.
When do credits expire?
You can view your Expiry date on your credit history page.
Please note: If you don’t use your Udemy Credit within the period of time set by your state, country, or other governing body’s unclaimed property laws (typically around 3-5 years, although these periods vary), we may process any amounts due to you in accordance with our legal obligations. This may include attempting to notify you of any unused credits and reporting and escheating (in other words, sending) those amounts to the appropriate governing body as required by applicable laws.
Can credits be put on hold?
No. Udemy.com is set up to automatically apply Udemy credits to your next course purchase, regardless of the expiration date, until all your account credits have been used.
Can credits be applied to the Udemy mobile app?
Udemy credits cannot be applied to purchases on the Udemy iOS mobile app.
Depending on your location, some course purchases on the Udemy Android app will be processed by Udemy.com’s checkout. In this case, you may be eligible to use Udemy credits if your checkout is redirected to Udemy.com. However, in-app purchases through the Android app are ineligible for credits to be applied through the Google Play payment system.
How can I check my account’s credits?
After logging in to your Udemy account, you can check your account’s credit information by navigating to your Udemy credits page.
You can also access the page by scrolling to your profile icon and clicking Udemy credits.
Can I purchase a Personal Plan subscription using credits?
At this time, credits can only be used for course purchases. They are not able to be used when purchasing a Personal Plan subscription.
Can I gift Udemy credits?
While Udemy credits are not able to be transferred, you can use your Udemy credits to send a gift to friends, family, and colleagues.
Will credits be applied to a gift purchase?
Yes. Udemy credits in your account will also be automatically applied to a course you purchase as a gift.
Please note: Udemy credits are not transferable to other accounts through refunds. If a gift purchased with credits is refunded, the credits will be returned to the original sender's account.
Promotional code credits
I received an additional promotional amount with my gift code
Udemy or our partners may run certain campaigns, during which you may receive a promotional amount with the purchase of a gift code in a single code. The gift code amount is equal to the amount paid to purchase the code. The promotional amount is the additional unpaid value that you may receive in Udemy Credits on top of the gift code amount, as detailed in the campaign.
When you redeem the single code, the gift code amount will be applied to your account. The expiration date of the promotional amount can be found on the code’s redemption page or the Udemy credits page.
How do I redeem my Udemy credits from a promotional code?
If you have received an email for a gift or a promotional code, click on the redemption link in the email to redeem your credits. Once you have redeemed the code, the credits will be added to your account.
Can I request a cash refund for a gift or promotional code before it’s redeemed for Udemy credits?
If you have purchased a gift or promotional code from a third-party vendor, you will need to contact that vendor directly, for information regarding the company’s refund policies.
What if I lose my gift or promotional code for Udemy credits?
If you lose your gift or promotional code, please contact the retailer where the code was purchased. Since the initial transaction did not occur on the Udemy platform, we do not have access to the necessary information and cannot offer additional assistance.
Can I redeem more than one promotional code for credits?
Generally speaking, promotional code campaigns are limited to one code per person. Additionally, if you qualify to receive more than one promotional code as part of separate campaigns, only one promotional code can be redeemed for credits, until you have applied that first set of credits towards a course purchase (or until the first set of promotional credits expire).
