Instructor payment overview and schedule
The revenue for instructor payments on Udemy may come from multiple sources, including paid course enrollments, subscriptions, and Connect 1:1. More information regarding payments to instructors is available in the Instructor Terms.
Here is an example of the steps typically involved in Udemy’s payment schedule for eligible instructors based on paid course enrollments.
1. In the first month, if your published course receives paid enrollments, learner fees are transferred to Udemy, and Udemy deducts transaction taxes and other fees from that amount as listed in the Instructor Terms.
2. Months 1 & 2: Udemy, Inc. processes refunds, corrections, and other adjustments.
3. Month 3: Udemy pays instructor [(total Month 1 student payments after applicable deductions – total refunds) x % revenue share]. Expected payment dates and the payment amount for a specific month are posted on an instructor’s Revenue Report. Payments are typically sent within the first 10 business days of the payment month.
Important note: Due to transaction fees, the amount payable to the instructor must be a minimum of $25 USD in order for the payment to be issued. Once the cumulative amount payable reaches $25 USD the payment will be issued. All remaining balances under $25 USD will be issued to instructors in December.

Instructor payment email notifications
Instructors will automatically receive emails when their payouts have either successfully processed or encountered an issue.
Successful Payouts: You will receive an email notification confirming that your payout was successfully processed and sent. You can access your Payout Report for further details on the transaction.
Failed Payouts: If there is an issue with your payout, you'll receive an email notification guiding you to our troubleshooting steps for failed instructor payouts.
