Student satisfaction is vital to any successful course on Udemy. After researching how students take courses, Udemy will stop supporting lecture features that were found to negatively impact student satisfaction and course engagement. The changes will be enforced beginning October 13th, 2015. Any course that is not updated, will be removed from the market place until the changes are made.
To make the transfer to supported lecture features easier, Udemy has created a dashboard that identifies which of your course lectures will be affected by the update. This dashboard is also available from the Teaching tab on the My Courses page.
Udemy students are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Checkpoints blocked students from accessing course content until all previous lectures were completed.
Fix: Remove checkpoints from your course.
Many students learn on the go. The interactive Shareable Content Object Reference Model or SCORM lectures have been removed because students cannot access them on a mobile device.
Fix: Record your screen while previewing the SCORM lecture and upload the video as a new lecture.
How to preview a SCORM lecture:
- If you have the most current version of Quicktime, use it to record your screen while previewing the SCORM lecture as a student.
- If you do not have Quicktime, download Screenr for free to record your screen while previewing the lecture.

True or False Quiz Questions
These questions will no longer be supported.
Update: True or false questions will be automatically replaced with multiple choice questions. No action is required by the instructor.
Linking to Non-video Based Lectures in Quizzes
It's recommended that quiz questions only link to video and mashup lectures.

The video player will only accept .vtt closed captions.
Recommended fix: Convert .srt closed captions files to vtt using the Simple SubRip to WebVTT converter
