Getting Started With The Instructor Mobile Experience: Android

Instructors can receive important updates for their courses, answers questions from students, and respond to course reviews via Udemy’s mobile app. If you have a mobile Android device (Android 5.0 and above) you can download Udemy’s app by clicking here.

Please note that only instructors with published courses or co-instructors for published courses, can access the instructor view on the mobile app.

How to Access the Instructor Mobile Experience

In order to access the instructor options on Udemy’s Android mobile app, please do the following:

1) Open the Udemy mobile app

2) Sign in to your Udemy account

3) Tap on the Account tab at the bottom right of the screen

4) Next, tap on Switch to Instructor View to access the instructor options in the app

Instructor Features on Udemy’s Android App

Inbox: access and respond to direct messages and questions that are posted in the Q&A. For more information click here.

Performance: access revenue reports, enrollment figures and read or respond to reviews for your courses. For more information click here.

Setting Your Notification Preferences

Instructors can select which types of notifications they wish to receive via Udemy’s Android app and when they would like to be sent them.

Push Notifications

When push notifications are enabled you will be notified of the applicable update directly on your mobile device’s screen. Push notifications can be enabled for direct messages, the Q&A, and course reviews, and instructors can also select the frequency of these notifications.

You can set your push notifications by following these steps:

1) Open the Udemy mobile app

2) Switch to the instructor view as outlined above

3) Tap on Account at the bottom right of the screen

4) Next, tap Push Notification Preferences

5) Select the push notifications you wish to receive and their frequency

Please note: morning push notifications will be sent at 9 AM your local time and evening push notifications will be sent at 5 PM local time.

Email Notification Preferences

Instructors receive several kinds of email notifications related to Udemy, their courses and messages they're sent, and these can also be adjusted in the instructor view of the mobile app.

You can set your email notifications by following these steps:

1) Open the Udemy mobile app

2) Switch to the instructor view as outlined above

3) Tap on Account at the bottom right of the screen

4) Next, tap Email Notification Preferences

5) Select the email notifications you wish to receive and tap save.
