With the Course Cloner tool, instructors can create new, targeted courses without modifying their original course. This article provides an overview of how to use the Course Cloner tool.
Access the Course Cloner tool
The Course Cloner tool can be accessed under the Tools section on your Instructor Dashboard. Then, select Clone new courses.
You can also access the tool through the instructor's Courses page, under the Cloned Courses tab.
You will be taken to the Course Cloner workspace.
How to use the Course Cloner tool
1. Select the course to clone content from.
2. From your original course, pick which sections/lectures to include in each new cloned course.
- You can create up to 5 cloned courses from your original course.
- Please note: You can add more content to these cloned courses later; but in order to publish a cloned course, 30 minutes of video content per course is still required.
3. Add titles and course details, and edit the course curriculum. Then, click Next.
4. You will be taken to a page to review your cloned courses.
Review your cloned course
5. Once you have created your cloned courses, each will be created as drafts. After each Draft course has been created, click Go to course to navigate to the full course creation page.
Please note: Draft courses created with the Course Cloner tool can also be accessed through the Instructor view.
We advise reviewing your cloned course content, course landing page, and all relevant details to confirm that your cloned course is complete.
Additionally, all cloned courses must meet the minimum requirements that a course must have, in order for it to be published on the Udemy platform.
- Review the course quality checklist.
- Learn how to set the price of your course.
6. Once your course meets all requirements and you have finalized your content, submit each cloned course through the Quality Review process.
Can my courses have duplicate content?
Due to the nature of the course cloning tool experience, there may be more overlap between courses. However, to avoid learner confusion, we encourage instructors to keep content overlap between their Udemy courses to a minimum.
