• How to Delete Downloaded Lectures or Courses for Offline Viewing on The iOS App

    This article outlines how you can delete lectures you’ve saved for offline viewing while using Udemy’s iOS app.

    Deleting downloaded lectures or course sections

    1. After logging into the Udemy mobile app, tap My learning.

    2. Tap on the course you wish to delete downloaded content from.

    To download a course lecture, tap the download icon on the right of the course name. Then, tap Remove download.

    To remove a course section, tap on the download icon on the right of the section header. Then, tap Remove downloads.

    Cancelling downloaded lectures or course sections

    If you wish to stop a course lecture or section while it is still downloading, tap on the same icon while the download is in progress above. Then, tap Cancel download.

    Deleting entire downloaded courses

    If you have saved an entire course for offline viewing, you can remove it from your iOS device from the mobile course player or through the Account page. 

    From the mobile course player, tap on the download icon under the course title. Then, tap Remove downloads.

    If you wish to remove multiple downloaded courses, we recommend deleting them through the Account page.

    1. After logging in to the Udemy app, tap Account at the bottom of the screen.

    2. Under Video Preferences, tap Your downloaded courses.

    3. Tap the Remove option on the right side of the course(s) you wish to remove. Then, tap Yes.

    This article explains how to download course resources on the Udemy iOS App. To help keep track of your mobile storage, we also provide instructions on how to set up a notification before downloading large course lecture resources.

    How to view and download resources by course lecture

    After accessing the mobile course player, lectures that include supplementary resources will have Resources listed under the lecture title.

    To access the resources, tap on the lecture title and hold for a moment or two. An options menu will appear. Tap on Resources for Lectures.

    A list of the available resources will come up. Tap the resource text or Open to access the link or file.

    After accessing a file, please follow the steps provided on your device to download the resource onto your mobile phone.

     

    How to view and download all course resources

    You can also find downloadable course resources for each lecture, all in one central place.

    1. Once you have accessed the mobile course player, tap More.

    2. Tap Resources.

    3. A list of lectures with available resources will come up. Tap on any lecture, and then tap the resource text or Open to access the link or file.

    Set a notification before downloading large lecture resources

    To keep track of your mobile storage, you can set a notification to confirm before downloading large resources from course lectures.

    1. After signing in to the Udemy mobile app, tap Account.

    This article explains how to download entire courses, course sections, or course lectures for offline viewing in the Udemy iOS app. We also provide instructions on how to update your course download settings to reduce mobile data usage.

    Please note: Due to privacy concerns, downloaded courses are encrypted and can only be accessed through the mobile app. Not all courses and course resources, including practice tests, are available for download.

    Downloading entire courses for offline viewing

    1. After signing into the Udemy mobile app, tap My learning.

    3. Tap on the download icon on the right side of Lectures.

    Downloading course sections or course lectures

    You can also download all of the courses in particular sections or individual course lectures on the iOS mobile app.

    To download a course section, tap the download icon on the right of the section header. Then, tap Download Section.

    Viewing downloaded courses offline

    To view all course downloads, tap on the Downloads section under the course title.

    Regaining access to downloaded content

    Please note: Due to certain platform security measures, some downloaded course content will expire after 30 days. To regain access to the downloaded content, simply connect your mobile device to the internet.

    Update your course download data settings

    1. After signing in to the Udemy mobile app, tap Account.

    2. Under Video Preferences, tap Download Options.

    To reduce your course data storage, tap on Video download quality and select your quality preference.

    To avoid data usage, tap Download over Wi-Fi only. If you play downloaded lectures while your mobile data is still turned on, the Udemy app will not use mobile data to load the video content.

    Please note: When using the mobile app, some mobile data may be used when loading features or updating your course progress. To prevent the use of any mobile data, we recommend turning mobile data usage off for the Udemy app from your device’s system settings.
