Can I get a refund for my subscription?
Udemy’s subscription plans purchased through Udemy.com do not offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, and no refunds or partial refunds are available unless otherwise required by applicable law (see below). If you enroll in a free trial by participating in a promotion, you can cancel the free trial at any time, without being charged.
Depending on where you're located, you may be entitled to a refund. We determine your location based on the country associated with your account. Learn more.
Payments for subscription enrollments through the iOS and Android mobile apps are processed through Apple and Google Play and not Udemy. Accordingly, we are unable to process refund requests for these in-app purchases or answer questions regarding the refund policies of Apple and Google Play. Please contact Apple and Google Play directly regarding refund inquiries for these in-app purchases.
How does a free trial work?
Free trials may be offered as part of promotional campaigns. Learners participating in a free trial promotion can try the subscription for free to determine if it’s a good fit for their learning needs. The duration of your free trial, when it ends, and how much your subscription fee will be is posted on your Subscriptions page.
You may cancel at any time during your free trial without being charged.

After the trial ends, your trial will automatically convert to the applicable subscription fee (plus applicable transaction taxes).
Please note:
- If you have previously held a subscription, either through a free trial or paid subscription, for either the monthly or annual option, you may not be eligible for free trials offered as part of a promotion.
- If you upgrade from a monthly to an annual subscription during your free trial, the trial will continue until the end of the original trial period.
Will I be billed during my free trial?
No. You will be charged your subscription fee plus applicable transaction taxes once the free trial ends and converts to a subscription.
Can I switch from a monthly to an annual subscription?
Depending on your region and subscription, you may be able to upgrade your monthly subscription to an annual one.
If this option is available, you’ll see the choice to upgrade on your Subscriptions page.
You will then be taken to the Checkout page to review your payment information and pricing.
Please note: The price provided on the Checkout page may be prorated based on the remaining time in your existing monthly plan.
Can I cancel my subscription?
If you decide the subscription isn’t the right fit for your learning needs, you can cancel your enrollment at any time. You will have access to the subscription content until the final date of your billing period, which is posted on your Subscriptions page.

How does billing work if I upgrade to Personal Plan?
If you upgrade your plan, you’ll be charged a prorated amount based on the time remaining in your current billing cycle.
For example, if you start a Monthly Starter Plan on April 1 and upgrade to the Personal Plan on April 15, you’ll only be charged for the remaining 15 days at the new plan’s rate. When your subscription renews on May 1, you’ll then be billed the full monthly price of the Personal Plan going forward.
