What’s the difference between a Personal Plan subscription and purchasing a regular Udemy Marketplace course?
- Personal Plan: a monthly or annual subscription with access to thousands of courses in hundreds of course topics, ranging from IT, web development, soft skills, business, marketing and design.
- Udemy course: by purchasing a Udemy marketplace course, you obtain lifetime access to that course alone after enrolling in it. When subscribed to Personal Plan, you will have unlimited access to the subscription’s content as long as you are paying for the subscription.
Please note: students can only enroll in one subscription program at a time (learn how to cancel or manage your Udemy subscriptions).
Which topic areas are available?
Hundreds of course topics are covered in the Personal Plan collection, ranging from IT, web development, soft skills, business, marketing and design.

Why can’t I see the option to enroll in the Personal Plan subscription?
Currently, Personal Plan is not available to all learners at this time. But, rest assured, we are working to make the subscription available to more learners moving forward. Please continue to visit the site to discover new courses and products!
I can see the monthly Personal Plan subscription option, but not the annual option. Why?
At this time, the annual Personal Plan subscription option is not available to all learners. But, as noted above, our team hopes to make our subscription options available to more learners moving forward.
How can I confirm if a course I’m interested in is included in the Personal Plan subscription?
To confirm whether the course you’re interested in is included, we recommend checking under the image of the course on the course landing page. If you’re eligible for a free trial, and see "Try Personal Plan for free" under “Preview this course”, this means the course is included.
A course I want to take isn’t available in the subscription. Can I request to have a course added to the collection?
When determining the collection’s courses, our team evaluates a number of criteria, some of which include the course rating, instructor performance and topic relevance. Although courses cannot be added to the collection by request at this time, you can purchase the course separately on Udemy and receive lifetime access to it.
If I’m a Personal Plan subscriber, can I gift a course that is currently included in the Personal Plan subscription?
No. The gifting feature is not available to Personal Plan subscribers, for courses that are included in the Personal Plan subscription. You can, however, gift other courses that are not included in the Personal Plan collection.
Can I take my Personal Plan subscription courses on the Udemy mobile app?
Yes. You can access all the courses in the Personal Plan collection on Udemy’s mobile app, after you’ve enrolled in the subscription at Udemy.com (via a desktop, laptop or mobile browser).
Currently, however, you cannot sign up for the Personal Plan subscription on the Udemy mobile app.
What languages are the courses taught in?
Currently, the Personal Plan subscription includes courses that are taught in English, and depending on your location, a localized, course collection may be available. We hope to add more courses that are instructed in other languages moving forward.
English auto-generated subtitles have been added to all non-language learning courses, and many of the collection’s courses offer subtitles in additional languages.

If I cancel my subscription and then resubscribe later, will I lose my course progress? Will I lose access to my certificates of completion as well?
Yes. The course progress and certificate access via the course will be lost upon cancellation of the subscription.
Billing
Does the subscription program come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee?
Since Personal Plan is a subscription product, it does not offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, and no refunds or partial refunds are available unless otherwise required by applicable law. Learners who are enrolled in a subscription via a free trial, can cancel at any time during your free trial, however, without being charged.
Depending on where you're located, you may be entitled to a refund. We determine your location based on the country associated with your account. Learn more about exceptions for subscription refunds, when required by law.
How does the free trial work?
Eligible students can try the Personal Plan subscription via the free trial to determine if it’s a good fit for their learning needs. The duration of your free trial, when it ends, and how much your subscription fee will be is posted on your Subscription’s page.
You may cancel at any time during your free trial without being charged.
