How to purchase a voucher
1. For eligible courses, exam vouchers will be available under the Overview tab, which can be accessed under the course player. Here, you will see the price of the exam voucher, along with the savings you will receive when purchasing on Udemy.com.
2. Depending on your certification exam voucher, you may be directed to a voucher page with additional details. Here, you can purchase an exam voucher with Second Chance or retake assurance (learn more) or just the exam voucher itself.
Please note:
- Exam vouchers, Retake Assurance, and Udemy Second Chance, all have an expiration date. We recommend reviewing the valid period before purchasing, as vouchers cannot be redeemed after their expiration.

3. Your certification may be added to your Shopping cart, where you can continue purchasing other courses or certification exams. When you are ready to purchase, please follow the payment instructions to complete the transaction.
4. After your payment is processed, you will receive a voucher code. Your purchased voucher and voucher code can also be found under Certifications on your My learning page.
5. Once you have received your voucher code, you can schedule your exam on the certification’s website. When prompted to pay, please enter your voucher code during the checkout process.

No. Currently, exam vouchers are only available for select certification courses for the certification exams mentioned above.

Any Udemy accepted payment method available in your country can be used to purchase an exam voucher.

Can I use Udemy credits to purchase an exam voucher?
Yes, Udemy credits can be used to purchase exam vouchers and will automatically be applied at the time of purchase.

My exam voucher has expired. Can I get a new one?
Once an exam voucher has expired, it cannot be extended or used, and its value is forfeited.

Second Chance and Retake Assurance
What is Second Chance and Retake Assurance?
For select certification exams, Udemy allows you to purchase an additional exam attempt in advance, and at a lower price, compared to purchasing a new voucher in the future.
- Retake Assurance: Allows you to retake your exam once using the same voucher code from your original purchase, if you do not pass on your first attempt.
- Second Chance: This is Udemy’s retake option for select certification exams. If you do not pass your exam on the first attempt, Udemy provides you with a new voucher code for your retake instead of reusing the same code.
Please note:
- If you pass the exam on your first try, Second Chance or Retake Assurance will no longer apply.
- Each of these options are only available for select certification exams and may not be offered for all certifications.
How do I use Second Chance or Retake Assurance?
If you do not pass your exam and have purchased a retake option, follow the steps below based on the type of coverage you have:
Second Chance
1. Go to the Certifications section on your My learning page.
2. Under the first purchased voucher, select Claim Second Chance.
3. You will see a notification that your request is in progress. Once your new voucher is ready, you will also receive a notification in your account.
Please note: It may take up to seven days for your new voucher to appear in your account.
4. Your Second Chance voucher will appear as a second voucher in your My learning page. You can then use this new voucher and code to schedule your second exam.
Retake Assurance
If you have purchased retake assurance, you can use the same code and follow the same instructions you used to take the original exam.
Can I purchase Second Chance or Retake Assurance separately?
No, Second Chance or Retake Assurance must be purchased at the time of your original exam voucher purchase. It is not available as a separate purchase after your initial registration is complete.
Can I get a refund on my exam voucher, Second Chance, or Retake Assurance?
Exam vouchers, Second Chance, and Retake Assurance are non-refundable, non-transferable, and expire as stated at purchase. Please review our Terms of Use for more information.
If I pass my exam on the first try, can I get a refund on my Second Chance or Retake Assurance?
No, Second Chance or Retake Assurance is purchased at the same time as the exam voucher. As mentioned above, they are not eligible for a refund.
Can I use Second Chance or Retake Assurance more than once?
No, each option can only be used for one additional exam attempt.

What happens if exam vouchers are out of stock?
Exam vouchers may become temporarily unavailable due to limited stock. We recommend returning to your course regularly for when additional vouchers will be made available.
I haven’t received a voucher for my Second Chance exam.
If you are having trouble receiving your Second Chance voucher, you may see one of the following messages, after selecting Claim Second Chance on your exam voucher:
- You’ve already passed your exam: If you passed your exam on the initial attempt, Second Chance does not apply to future exams.
- Your window to request Second Chance has expired: Learners have until the expiration date of the initial voucher to request a Second Chance voucher.
- Your Second Chance request is in progress: Please allow up to seven days after submitting your request through the Certifications page for the new exam voucher to appear in your account.
- We’ve already issued your Second Chance: Your Certifications page should display an additional voucher, labeled as Second Chance.
