• Taking Practice Tests on the Mobile App

    This article explains how you can take practice tests using the Udemy mobile app. Udemy’s practice test feature allows courses to include comprehensive, long-form simulated exams that students can take to assess their knowledge of a particular subject.

    Please note: Practice tests are available in select Udemy courses. To learn how to determine if a course offers a practice test, please visit our frequently asked questions.

    How to access the  practice test on the mobile app

    1. After opening the Udemy mobile app, tap My learning. Then, tap on the course you wish to take.

    2. Under Lectures, tap on any lecture that is labeled as a practice test.

    3. Tap Open Practice Test.

    4. Tap Begin test when you are ready.

    Taking the practice test on the mobile app

    After beginning the test, you can proceed by using the left and right arrows on the screen. You can skip a question to come back to it later, or tap on the star to mark it for review.

    The progress bar at the top of the screen will show your progress as well as the time remaining in the test. If you run out of time, you will still be able to finish the test. 


    You can pause the test at any time by tapping the pause icon at the top of your screen, and when you're ready, tap Resume test at the bottom to resume.

    Viewing questions on the mobile app

    You can quickly skip ahead or revisit any question view by tapping on the hamburger icon located at the bottom left of the screen.

    Scroll through and tap to view any question on the practice test page. You can also use the dropdown at the top of the screen to filter by questions you have skipped or marked for review.

    Completing the practice test on the mobile app

    To complete your practice test, tap on Finish test at the top right of the screen. Then, tap Finish Test again.

    Please note: If you have skipped questions, you can submit this attempt or follow the directions outlined above to complete all questions.

    You will see your results immediately after finishing the test. Tap Review questions to view the correct answers, or tap Retake test to take the test as many times as you would like.

  • Archiving a Course on The Mobile App

    This article explains how to organize your learning experience by archiving a course on the mobile app. Archiving a course moves it to the Archived courses section under My Learning, but does not prevent you from accessing the course in the future.

    How to archive a course on the mobile app

    1. After opening the Udemy mobile app, tap My learning at the bottom of the screen.

    2. Tap on the course you wish to archive.

    3. After reaching the mobile course player, tap More.

    4. Tap Archive course.

    The archived course will now appear under the Archived courses section of My learning.

    1. After opening the Udemy mobile app, tap My learning at the bottom of the screen.

    2. Tap on the filter icon, located at the top right of your screen.

    3. Under Select filter, tap Archived courses to access any archived course.

    How to unarchive a course on the mobile app

    1. After selecting the course you wish to unarchive, navigate to the More section by using the instructions outlined above.

    2. Tap Unarchive course.

    The course will now return to All courses under My learning.

  • How to Close Your Account on the Mobile App

    This article outlines how you can close your Udemy account while accessing Udemy on a browser. 

    If you're having trouble with the site, or if there's anything we can help you with before you close your account, please contact Udemy Support. ​

    • If you’ve created a course on Udemy as an instructor, or you have been added as a co-instructor to a course, you will need to take additional steps before you can close your account. Learn more in this Help Center article.

    Important information regarding account closures

    Course access

    By closing your Udemy account, your account will be deleted and you'll lose access to all the courses you’ve enrolled in, including purchased courses. If a course was purchased within the past 30 days, however, you can request a refund before closing your account.

    Account data

    When you delete your account, the personal data associated with your account will be deleted or anonymized. This includes your account data and platform usage data. 

    Please note, however, that we must retain certain data, like a record of payment transactions and data required for legal reasons. Any retained data will be deleted once the purposes of retention have been served. For additional information, review our Privacy Policy.

    Note: If you wish to revoke the close account request, you must notify our team of this within 14 days of submitting your close account request. Once the request for your account has been completed, and your account is fully deleted and anonymized, we won't be able to reinstate your account.

    How to close your Udemy learner account on the mobile app

    1. After opening the Udemy mobile app, tap Account at the bottom of the screen.

    For Android users: Under Account Settings, tap Account security. Then, tap the Close Account tab.

    3. Tap Close account again to confirm you wish to proceed.

    4. Depending on your account settings, you may be required to enter a 6-digit verification code sent to your account's email address. Otherwise, enter your password. Then, click Close Account again.

    Note: If you encounter an error message to contact support while attempting to close your account, see how to contact Udemy support.

    5. After you submit your close account request, a confirmation email from no-reply@e.udemymail.com will be sent to the email address you registered with your Udemy account. The email will include instructions for how you can keep your Udemy account open if you change your mind. 

    Reminder: If you wish to revoke the close account request, you'll need to do so within 14 days of submitting your close account request.

    To continue your learning experience while you’re in a vehicle, we recommend you prepare courses to listen to offline, by downloading the lectures to your device via our mobile app.

    Listen to courses with CarPlay

    If your vehicle and iOS mobile device supports Apple’s CarPlay, you can use the feature to play audio from your Udemy courses. After connecting your mobile device to your vehicle, you will be able to select courses to listen to via the Udemy mobile app and progress through the course, hands-free.

  • How to Change Your Email Address or Password on the Mobile App

    This article provides instructions for changing the email address or password associated with your account on the mobile app. 

    Note: Passwords are no longer used for logging in to Udemy.

    • If you originally created your account using a password, you’ll use passwordless email authentication with a 6-digit code to log in to your account instead. 
    • If you created your account without a password, you don’t need to create a password and will use passwordless email authentication with a 6-digit code to log in to your account.

    Change your email address on the mobile app if you have a password

    Important security note: If you change your account’s email address, any credit card information you have saved in your account will be deleted. Learn how to add or delete cards in your account.

    If you previously created a password for your account, and want to change the email associated with your account, log in to the Udemy app and follow these steps:

    1. Tap account to access your account settings.

    2. Under the Account settings section, tap Account security.

    3. Tap the pencil icon next to your current email address. 

    • Note: You may be prompted to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). Follow the instructions on screen to enable MFA before continuing with these steps. See steps for enabling MFA.

    Change your email address on the mobile app if you don’t have a password

    If you signed up to Udemy using passwordless email authentication, and want to change the email associated with your account, log in to the Udemy app and follow these steps:

    1. At the top right of the page, move your cursor to your initials or profile image. 

    2. In the dropdown menu, tap Account settings.

    3. Tap the pencil icon next to your current email address.

    4. Enter your new email address and tap Verify my new email.

    5. You’ll receive an email to your new email address with a 6-digit code. Enter this code, then tap Update your email to complete your email change.

    How do I change my email address if I’ve forgotten my password?

    If you’ve forgotten your password, and need to change your email address, contact Udemy support for assistance.

    How do I change my email address if I don't have access to the email address?

    If you’re unable to access the email address that’s registered with your Udemy account (for example, you no longer have access to the email address or a typo was made in the email address when you signed-up to Udemy), you can submit a request to our team to associate your account with a new email address. 

    • Note: The email you wish to change to must not be registered to a Udemy account. If you already have a Udemy account with the other email address, see how to submit a merge account request instead. 

    In order to submit an email change to our team for existing Udemy accounts, provide the following information when contacting our team. 

    1. Account ownership verification

    In order to verify your ownership of both accounts, our team requires proof of purchase for any of your courses in the account that will be merged into your primary account.

    This can be in the form of:

    • a bank statement showing the purchase OR
    •  an enrollment email you received upon purchase

    You can also provide a screenshot of either of these two options.

    Note: As an additional security precaution, screenshots of the purchase history page won't be accepted.

    2. Email addresses

    Provide both of these email addresses:

    1. The email address you can't access, which is linked to your Udemy account.
    2. The new email address you'd like to use, that isn't associated with any Udemy account.

    Once you have the information below to provide to our team, contact support to begin the email change process.

    If you originally created your account using a password, and would like to change the password, log in to the Udemy app and follow the steps below.

    • Note: You no longer need your password to log in to Udemy, but it may be required for updating account settings, such as your email address.
    1. Tap account to access your account settings.
    2. Under the Account settings section, tap Account security.
    3. Enter your Current password, New password, and Confirm new password, then tap Change password.

    Learning reminders can help you stay on track with your learning goals and remind you when it’s time to resume your Udemy courses. This article outlines how you can set, change, and stop learning reminders on the Udemy mobile app.

    To schedule learning reminders on your mobile device, and receive push notifications for them:

    1. Open the Udemy app on your device and tap Account at the bottom-right.
    2. On the Account settings screen, tap Learning reminders.

    • Note: If your notifications are not allowed, you’ll be directed to the notification settings on your device to enable notifications on the Udemy app.

    5. Follow the prompts on screen to complete these fields:

    • (Optional) Name: Enter a custom name for your reminder.
    • (Optional) Attach content: Select a course to relate your reminder to.

      • If you selected Weekly, choose your desired day(s) in the Day field.

    What is passwordless email authentication?

    Passwordless email authentication is a secure way to verify a user’s identity without using a password. With passwordless email authentication, a 6-digit code is sent to your email inbox when you’re signing up or logging in to Udemy.

    Can I sign up by creating a password instead?

    Passwordless email authentication enhances the security of your Udemy account and helps prevent unauthorized access. As a result, passwordless email authentication is the default method for signing up to Udemy and it’s not possible to create an account using a password.

    Depending on your location, you may also have the option of signing up using:

    1. On the log in screen of the mobile app, tap Sign up.

    • If you want to receive promotional emails, select the check box.
    • Tap Sign up.

    3. Enter your Full name and Email.

    4. Tap Continue.

    Note: Depending on your location, you may also have the option to add your phone number for easier login and added security. Follow the instructions on screen to add a phone number to your account.

    5. After you tap Continue, a 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email inbox. 

    • The code will expire after 15 minutes.
    • If you don’t see the code in your email inbox, check your spam folder. If you didn’t receive the code, tap Resend code.

    6. Enter the 6-digit code and tap Sign up to complete the sign up process. 

    Sign up on the mobile app using Google, Facebook, or Apple 

    You can also sign up to Udemy on the mobile app using your Google, Facebook, or Apple account.

    1. On the log in screen of the mobile app, tap Sign up.
    2. On the sign up screen, tap the Google, Facebook, or Apple icon.
    • Note: The Google log in option won’t work if third-party cookies are disabled on your browser or if you opt-out of third-party cookies through the cookie preference settings on Udemy. If you’re encountering issues with the Google option, please ensure third-party cookies are enabled. If you don’t want to enable third-party cookies, please select a different sign up method.

    3. If you selected Google or Facebook, follow the prompts on screen to complete the sign up process. 

    4. If you selected Apple, follow the prompts to complete the sign up process. You’ll be asked if you wish to share the email address that’s registered to your Apple ID with Udemy. 

    • If you wish to hide that email address, however, you can choose to have Apple generate a unique, private email address.
    • Messages sent to this address will be forwarded to your personal email address by a private email service. You can read or respond to these emails moving forward and still keep your personal address private.
